I had some mods done on the Superglide Sport last week, new handle bars & a lowering block kit on the arse.
When i picked the bike up i was wrapped with the way it looked & sat & on the ride home it felt great. Well i got to ride it yesterday & again today with the missus on the back (she's a lightweight) & the f&ckin exhaust scrapes like a bastard.
It is currently running a D&D Fatcat which is great & was on the bike when i bought it & i never was really 100% in love with the look. Really prefer the hot rod look.
Now the question is, IF i change the exhaust, ( i might just let it grind itself away) what the hell do I go for?
I like the look of the V&H big radius but i also like short shots etc. Don't really like the loooong pipe look at all, oh & they also have to be black.
What pipes actually live up to their hype performance wise?
Any info on what people have experienced would be appreciated.
Thought i'd better add a pic so you can see how long & low the pipe sits, oh, & it only scrapes the last 6" or so, so far.

If it's just the muffler, I'd look at modifying it to sit a bit higher. I've been looking at pipes for my FXDX, and never found a 2-1 I really liked. The few I found were Bassani Road rage, Kerker Supermeg, Cobra Python (by V&H). I liked the Kerker the best, and looked like it had decent ground clearance. www.jcmotors.com/images/PRODUCT/large/JCM-127-71574.jpg I ended up getting a Rinehart stepped 2-2 the other week, but haven't fitted it yet. Of course you could allways put it back to standard height. What shocks are they ? Cheers
Southern Custom Choppers have a 2into1 system they build in house that works a treat, they look godd, can get them upswept, chrome or black, give impressive dyno figures if the bike is tuned properly and a pretty reasonable price. talk to Picko 0732057282. Freedom exhausts offer a cheaper alternative to Vand H pipes, but like was said in a previous post most of the shorty type pipes do nothing for performance. for 2/2 pipes,Carls Speed shop in the US make a complete tapered turbo set up that turns some impressive dyno figures with the correct tuning. or you could get Les at Fat pipes in Qld to make you a set of pipes in whatever configuration you want.
What about this??
