After putting slips on, the Heritage started popping on deccelaration (or however its spelt). I expected this and believe it or not did not mind it as it was not to bad. Normally run BP95 when ever possible. Went for a ride with the son today and had to get fuel just out of Ballarat. Pulled into the BP servo on the highway on the Melbourne side, and they dont have 95, so filled up with 98. The popping almost disappeared completely. Is this to be expected?

have been using the higher octane rated fuel in my 83 shovell and find it runs much better on it than the lower rated fuels, only my humble opinion but also find the cage runs better on it as well,so will keep using it,cost a bit more but better running and fuel consuption is a good trade off.

Thanks Dave. No tuner, only did slipons and was told no tune necessary. The popping was only on throttle backoff with it fully closed.
