    You need a press to get the old bolt out of the shockies. You don't need to take the rear wheel off . I used a jack and removed and altered 1 shockie at a time.

    I haven't seen the video but to remove the existing bolts you need to compress the shockies to take the preasure off the circlips holding the plate that the bolts are fitted to .They have a locking nut on the inside. It's a few years since I've done mine but the above is basicly correct.

    On my bike,a 1995 FXSTC I had to remove the shocks and take the whole shock bolt out and install new adjustable ones and this process required the use of a press...Looking at the video it's a different setup to mine.
