     Hi Guys,

Any ideas on a good bike to bike comms system.

Am looking for something my mate and I can use on long rides.

    Cheers

    Thanks guys.

Can I ask how the scala goes with wind noise etc?? Do they work ok, and where did you get them?

    Cheers

I bought my scala g2 from mcas at auburn, Sydney. I have used it for 3 years now and never had a wind noise issue, it is in my full face helmet, this is what i use for touring, it also connect with my phone and people that ring can't believe i am on the bike it is so quiet.
The new scala g4 is supposed to be better again, and i will be checking it out in the next few weeks.

By the way, it is more than comms, it has a fm radio and an input for the ipod plus the phone operation too (works perfect with my iPhone). So whilst th finger is good for comms, I am not sure how to use my finger to interface with my iPhone?

love riding, open face shorty helmet, phone in pocket for emergency, listening to the motor pounding out its sound, smell the flowers, listen to the birds, smelling the shit from the cattle truck you catch 3 kms up the road, feeling the rain on ya face, checking on ya riding mates every so often in the mirrors----leaving the rat race behind you----yeh thats what its about--cheers Grim

I opted to go in a different direction for bike communication, I ended up getting the Autocom wireless system as I specifically wanted to go UHF Radio for bike to bike, you have two choices for power, AA batteries or Hard wired, and about 3 AUX sockets for Phone, GPS, MP3 or whatever will fit in the AUX sockets, I ended up getting the Bluetooth board for one of the units but is a little tricky to set up and the only time I tried to test using with a phone call I neglected to check if I had the phone bluetooth enable, for rider to passenger it has it's own dedicated bluetooth connection and all/some of the audio selections can be heard by the passenger, I've only managed to test the MP3 player and audio via the phone using bluetooth and works extremly well and I had to turn the volume right down as it was way too loud, it is a wired setup but I haven't had any drama's with the lead coming out off the helmet to for plugging the module into...

As i'm still playing around with the setup and buying leads as required I can't give a true report on how well it works, but one thing I am dissapointed in is that it states that GPS can be used via Bluetooth but that is only with the dedicated Bike GPS Systems and not your run of the mill Car GPS (but does work if using the phono jack socket out of your GPS)...

    http://www.autocom.co.uk/

I'll get around to testing it properly one day when I get more time..

It's a shame you had an issuenwith the g4. Maybe I will stick with my g2. The good thing with having a scala is a lot of riders have them, so it is easy to use the scala buddy system to chat.
