Hi all, got myself 03 sportster 883, was going all fine for last 2 months. Didnt start it for 4 weeks or so, it is on trick charger.

Today, trying to start, engine turns fine & strong, but cant start.

Waited for an hour, same thing.

Any ideas, pls?

Perhaps you may need to get a new battery. If you have the original battery in it, you've got a good life out of it. I'm just guessing.

If you have a good battery, spark and fuel, the only other thing the engine needs to fire up is air.  Is the air filter clean? 

Also, if the fuel has been sitting in the bike for a few of months it may have gone off.  (yes it does happen).   Fill it with fresh petrol and try that.

g'day mate, how did you get on Jerryd.
i have a Quad for my daughter and i found if i used Vmax fuel it would not start. ditch the good stuff (so i thought) and put in normal unleaded and it was fine. Bike shop told me that one.
