Just wondering if there is an update from previous posts about the KM's you guys are getting from Pirelli Night Dragon tyres ?? I am just about ready for a new set of hoops so it would be good to know how they are wearing compared to the Dunlops ??

Looks OK to me, I wouldn't mind knowing how the 200 rear looks on a Softail compared to the Dunlop.

    Thanks D

looks like the 200 rear wheel bikes chew the tyres up

I'm the same 8500km  and needs replacing

I'll shop around and post prices up - so far I think Balmain motorcycle centre are the go

There was a tyre place on the central coast called SKIDS - met the guy when they kicked off in Leichhardt

Handed me his card at a servo - I like that shows he is keen to go the extra mile

dont know if SKIDS are still around - whitepages still have old address in Leichhardt

    thanks again

    G'Day All,

I've done 16k on the original dunlops but will need changing soon (no burnouts and plenty of corners!)

Maybe the Softail Custom is a bit easier on tyres. I'm also interested in the Pirelli, does anyone know who stocks them around Melbournes west (I live in Werribee)?

    Cheers

    Darkman,

I just got 9000 outta my rear (2009 Softail).

Was interseted in the 200 Pirelli; but ended up with another Dunlop.

I am interested in your final distance from your Pirelli.

    Cheers Big Ears.

I always get (I've had 3 of em) around 11,000 to 12,000 km's out of a rear Dunlop but it pisses me off that the centre is always worn out "long before" the sides are. It isn't rocket science to understand that they need to be harder wearing in the middle of the tyre for longer life. I lean the bike until it scrapes on either side and spend most of my time in the twisty's but regardless of that, the tyres are always worn out in the centre long before the sides are even close to giving up, so i hope the Pirelli is a better design. The last set of tyres i bought for my Speed Triple (Michelin road 2's) held up just as long as the Dunlops but wore evenly + they had to spend their time trying to grip the road a hell of a lot harder than the Dunlops will ever have to on my Harley, so Dunlop can't use much as an excuse for ripping us off.

    Hi all

Most of my riding is high speed 100km+ due to where I live. First 3 Dunlops 5000km consistantly. Tried 2 Avon Cobra's exactly the same. I am now on the Pirelli Nightdragon and have just clocked over 6000km and it's only1/2 worn. Guys in Darwin reckon they are getting 13000km. (same high speed type of riding). I am stoked so far.

I got the Pirelli for $30 cheaper than the Dunlop

For the record I get 10,000km from the front Dunlop's. Changing to a Pirelli Nightdragon for the front today. (if they make 'em for the front)

Got the Fatty booked in next week for Night Dragons F&R at Hyperformance at Eumundi for $560 fitted. Didn't know if that was good or not but seems like they're doing the right thing after reading this thread. I thought they would be dearer than Dunnies. Maybe Pirelli is trying to get the HD market.
I got 14k from the originals and the same from the 200 rear Avon Cobra that is about to come off. Didn't have a Cobra for the front when I changed the first time. Aaron reckons he's fitting quite a few Night Dragons to HDs lately.
Seeing what other scoots are getting is pretty interesting. Thanks
