The engine light and battery light on my nighster came on the other day while out for a ride but went off by the time  i got home. I had resently put in a new battery so i checked the terminals and re tighten them but now when i start the bike the engine light stays on for a short while and comes on now and then the bike has just reached 20000,s km oil is good had new pipes put on 2000 km ago any advice would be good or should i race off to the mechanics i didnt use a genuine harley battery and the terminals were slightly different so i had to packed them out a little

What code is it showing? I bet it is low Battery warning, I had that due to bad earth in the system. Check all your terminals and if you had to pack them out then that is more that likely your problem. But the code will show what the issue is.

Haven't got the answer but the same question. Mate was riding to work this morning and the engine light came on and she started chugging like on one cylinder. He's checked the leads, oil etc but to no avail. Plug maybe? Anyone got any ideas
