ridding experience

     Hi Guys.

Im am wondering what ridding experience do most of you guys have?

i am wanting to join you guys on a ride, but Im worried Im going too slow for some of you and I do not want to spoil your weekend ride,by being too slow and inexperience ridder.

Im probably too causious for my own good.

Are there any other ridders here that do not have the confidence ,but would like to join some of the rides or maybe create rides for the slow, with a couple of experience ridders to guide us. (only if they want us)

Maybe some of the experience ridders would like to start a run ,and maybe charge a small fee for their time and teach us  a trick or two,or let us know what were doing wrong.

I got a quote to do an advance ridding course and was quoted $400.00,which i can not afford, being unemployed its a lot of money, although probably worth it.

What are your thoughts,is anyone else in the same boat.

    Any other suggestions

    Im in Sydney

Keeping up with traffic and cars not a problem, its keeping up with ridders in a group.

Fugitive I've only been riding for a year...and I must be about the oldest bloke on this forum. They are a VERY decent bunch of blokes - very respectful and helpful. They do however ride pretty quick so when I'm with them I am a bit outside my comfort zone. I think though that this improves your riding skill. If I'm feeling nervous I always back off - this is for fun after all - and they genuinely understand and encourage that.

The main thing that improved my safe riding was not being timid cornering. Once I got over that it felt a lot a safer.

The advanced course is well worth it so it's worth waiting for, once your finances improve a bit (good luck with that). Meanwhile, riding with someone else will get you lots of free instruction and these are the blokes to do it. You are in good hands.

If you want a few slow runs I'm happy to put my hand up. I'm on the Northern Beaches. Where are you? Road Warriors cafe on the Old Pacific Highway is eveyone's favourite destination for short rides.

Mate don't worry about it, my good wife and I are always at the back of a group, we take it easy and have heaps of fun at it...like dave said, just ride to your pace...my moto is I'm too old to try amd impress and most of all i know my limits....

some the boys on here can ride and ride hard, most important things is that at the end of the day we all get there safely.

so brother you are more than welcome to join us at the caboose of the pack....we can always do with another memeber....

enjoy mate and hope to see you out there with us.

Don't worry about riding too slow for everyone else...As has already been said...Everyone knows where they are headed and the difference from riding at 100k's and 130 k's over a short/mid distance ride is only a few minutes behind at the destination...I don't ride fast and sometimes cop a bagging(all in good fun) but I'm out there for myself and no-one else... As long as your enjoying it,thats all that matters....

Im over the wobbly ridding,Im probably a good rider, the only problem i seem to have is my speed.
One of my bad habits is I keep looking down on the speedo,to make sure I dont get caught on these dame cameras,
My strengths are in traffic and my weakness is the highway and a bit slow on some corners.

It should be the other way around,go figure

I think most have pretty much summed it up, but I thought I knew how to corner until a mate of mine showed me how, and like the poster above me here, it is all about weight distribution. It is amazing how good these bikes can actually corner when you get your weight in the right spot. It is not uncommon to see him almost off the seat going around a nice tight twistie. I still can't keep up with him. :)
