I just fill up with the best available at the pump I have put 91 octane in on a couple of rides out in the bush but I can't feel any difference in the way it runs regardless of what it may be.

98 for me too. Anyone who has done any performance work to their donks should do the same.

BP ultimate for me. If unavailable, I will top up with the next highest octane.
I've had a bit of pinging on other fuels so i'll get BP98 in there as quick as I can afterwards.

Caltex 95, I had the bike dyno'd  by Wayne Paterson with that octane fuel, seems to do everything required OK.

This info was from July/August HD mag. If you done some engine work and don't want your ride to be an oiler, stick to the higher octines.

    Interesting point Karl.

My mechanic suggested that I don't run BP ultimate in my blown GSXR for the same reason. So in that motor I just run normal BP premium (95 RON I think)

But Frasers told me to use BP ultimate in the HD's so i just do that, no issues with it so far.

It's funny that my foolly sik 220hp+ turbo GSXR only gets normal premium fuel,  while my slow revving, understressed tractor gets the expensive BP ultimate.
