     Hey,

I have only had this bike a couple of weeks, and decided to give it a tune.

Pulled the points cover off, and discovered a set of points in there.

Pulled the ignition module cover off, and discovered that the ignition module is still in place.

Is it probable that someone has replaced the triggers with points, but still used the ignition module?

Is there any way to check if this is the case?

If this is what has been done, why?

    any help would be appreciated.

    Dave.

     Thanks Bob,

I thought that may be the case.  Will have to look at an electronic ignition for the old girl, as the idling is a bit erratic.

    Thanks again, Bob,

I will do all of that, the bike has been sitting for about 5 years, so may have some muck in the tank. I had a Norton Commando before this, and had no end of problems with it until I fitted a Boyer ignition unit to it.

    thanks Dave.
