Just wondering if anyone has paid to have a big wheel conversion done on the back of a Softail and if so what was the cost...Ball park figure is fine...
Cheers...Sparra
Sorry Daggs...I have a 95 FXSTC and the rear skinny wheel shits me....I was thinking 180/200 and was just chasing a ball park figure to get someone to do it...I figure the time it takes me to try and do it I am better off paying to get it done properly and spending that time working...Make sense??
if your in SA contact Blair at Adelaide Bike Works ...... good boys there and offer this conversion
Hey Sparra this is my cost so far for what its worth,
Tyre and wheel brand new (never fitted) $400 ebay, Tyre is a 200 so I need to replace with a 180 or go chain... nup goin to a 180 tyre
Belt and pulley $120 from memory ebay again.
2003 Swingarm $140 ebay
Still have to get brake and rotor, pulley spacer sorted, I have a guard that I will widen cos I am hoping to keep the same guard look.
Dont have the bucks to have someone do it so am tryin to do it in the shed with excellent advice and tips from the likes of dazza and others.
i got a quote from chopperworks for a kit for my dyna , with 200 wide wheel was around 8k - but i think walka has kits for way cheaper
Mines only a 140 as well...When I got new tyres put on it they said thats all that will fit it with the belt guards...
