Howdy, looking at buying a shidot looking fibreglass front guard for me beast. They are dirt cheap and I'm wondering if they are dirt cheap for a reason? Before I buy it has anyone had one and if so what are the pro's and con's?

Wouldn't be as stiff as steel...a front glass guard might vibrate a bit at speed, maybe make some noise??? just guessing

Just (tonight) fitted a glass guard up to the front of the WG following the 16" front wheel conversion.  Check back with me in a week or so and I'll let ya know what I think.....

Oh well, been told they don't make them for my bike, that specific manufacturer anyway. Where'd you get yours from DonC?

Here's the 'glass guard fitted up (mockup paint only)

Took it out last weekend for a good ride, not so smooth roads.  Wasnt noisy, no cracks etc.

Got mine from a guy on ebay for $99.

Quality varies from vendor to vendor.  I have had mine on for several years with no problems what so ever.  I did not buy mine from e-Bay.  There are many ways to make a fiberglass part.  Use enough mat and they get heavy but still strong.  Picture one is when I first built the bike and picture two is how it looks now.  Always use a large area backer plate made from aluminum.  I use SS at the mount.
