Hi guys
Can anyone help me with some info about HD smart alarm systems.
The problem i am having is i have a 07 US in port bike and need to put a security system on it. I would like to go with the genuine HD system but the problem is the HD system available in Australia is different to the one (for the same model bike) available in the US.
I spoke to the dealer in the US this morning and he said the system he has says it is specifically for north American bikes.
Does anyone know if the wiring on an import needs to be changed at all to make it road legal here. If so would i have to go with the AU system ( twice the price of the same system from the US) or would i be OK getting the US one. The other thing is do these systems need to be installed at a HD dealer or could any bike shop fit it.
It is a decent amount of money so please only reply to this if you know for sure i can't afford to get it on a guess then find i can't use it.
Hope someone here knows about this because neither dealer from the US or here can give me a straight answer.

I'd love to dump the original alarm on my 05 and fit a current series proximity alarm. The original one drives me nuts. Can this be done?
The only security system designed and approved by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. When armed, the Security System disables the starter and ignition while monitoring the electrical system and vehicle motion with adjustable sensitivity. Minor disturbances trigger a momentary warning; major ones an unbroken thirty-second alarm after which the Security System returns to monitoring. A distinctive four-way flasher pattern is the alarm signal. An optional self-powered Smart Siren Kit adds a piercing scream, which sounds even if the battery cable is cut. Harley-Davidson Factory Security System includes Security Module (integrated security, turn signal and bank angle sensor), Remote Control Waterproof Key Fob and Pocket-Sized Operation Manual. Fitted str8 in to my Nth American (non international)2001 Fatty I also fitted the smart siren, This is a push button not proximity. Only diff between this and the international from what i can see is the domestic(USA) can be set for autoarm and the international cannot, also 3 chirs when arming not two. Plug in to the TSM harness and siren harness was already there.

Give us a pm if you get stuck fitting pretty easy tho, well at least on the fatty, took off inner guard, can reach the tsm from the RHS of bike swapped it for the TSSM, used double sided tape and fixed the siren to the front of the inner guard and plugged it in, rest of time was programming thru the blinkers, good instructions come with the unit tho
