Anyone speak French? @#$%^&*
..... and does it have an Australian Standards sticker?
Now just to keep this discussion going, what is the go with standards on lids.
Mate of mine did his time in the dutch army as a dispatch rider. Imported 2 nice bikes from the 70's vintage. Moto Guzzi and Beamer.
We had the discussion about lid standards and his opinion (whether right or wrong, 'cause I don't know) is that the European and American standards are a lot more betterer than Australia's.
What's the feeling out there? Who knows what?
Noit,
I have had 5 different open face lids in the last few years and I have just bought a Nolan N41. I've gotta say that it is the second best bike related investment I've made (the WG comes first). I ride about 300 ks each way when I get a weekend off, in heat and bugs and road grit and now I can see for the last 100. Even with good glasses or even goggles, ya still can't beat the visor. The peak helps keep the midday sun off the scone so I don't end up looking like a Zorro negative. It also adds some downward pressure so your lower jaw isn't getting sawed in half.
I don't really care any more if it don't look cool (old age will do that to ya!), but most people will be looking at the WideGlide anyway.
Try the Nolan next time you are in a shop. You might find their sizing is a bit small. Either that or my head has swelled up since I bought the WG.
I have a Shoei open face for cruising around, Shoei is in the top end of the open face market but fits well and very comfortable.
I am thinking of getting a flip front helmet for longer trips.
I have looked at a Shoei Multitec, Nice helmet but a bit pricey at $799.00
My next option is an RJAYS Tour-Tech, it has good features and very comfortable and priced well at $249.00
If you have a $60.00 head then slot on a $60.00 helmet thats really the bottom line.
RISKY
Street,
Maverik thinks it....
Seriously,
Is there much wind noise when you have the flip top open ?
I've just bought a Lazer open face helmet. I think it was called dragon, and looks like an aviator helmet. It would have to be the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. I find full face helmets give me a sore neck after a while.
Roger that
Eh bobster
Just read your bio and noticed the port adelaide bit. Avid Port Adelaide supporter (not power) all my life, but also noticed the chopper pushie bit. Had one myself growing up in Newton.
Skid kids eh........ Findon skid kids I presume. I was in Adelaide for my brothers wedding last month and noticed the Findon Skid Kids sign is still on Port road. Blew me away, and brought back memories.
Gremlin,
I can't find any info on this Laser dragon lid. Is there a web site or something?
Does this mean you give cheap milk?
Anyone had a look at those Scorpion EXO 100, its a half helmet with a consealed visor
Stop screwing with tradition, just buy a cheap open face mat black helmet and toughen the fuck up.
Yeah but you own a V-ROD so you don't have any tradition to live up to.
KBC open face is very comfortable but still looks like you've got a big black smartie on ya head
I hope so m8 i'll have to book that weekend off of work but that shouldn't be a drama so will get onto it, I see Bobtail asked Uncle Ho if he's gunna share his room maybe I can have the single bed & they share the double bed seem as they are good mates hahaha
