are you city riders keepin an eye on when the road will be sealed ,maybe we could organise a ride up the coast on the new road seeing coming south is a problem .a overniter if some of you get permission ,

Don't know when that road will be sealed, some time off I think, FA in cervantes as well......BUT what stops us from doing a overniter mebby to Gero, that's a decent ride...Daz would hafta start the day before on his bunky though....

Methinks that the north of Perth brigade has well and truly gone into hibrenation or have fallen of the pertch.....

I had a weekend on the dirt bikes last weekend at Wedge Island.
We came home on the new road as it is sealed from Wedge back to Lancelin and is a lot easier than the beach/track.
There is still a barracade at the begining to stop people going north and according to main roads the road is not officialy open till December, however there were a few cars heading north and even a couple on a Harley.
When we got to the barracade it was unmaned and open..........so short answer fcuk knows..........

Heard the road will be open to traffic in 4wks, maybe they do some official opening later on...........

overnighter to kalbarri via the coast ,dongara has good pub and food ,crasher will flush out any coppers ,maybe we could stop and see dazs relatives ,they are always good for corn on the cob ,,,,,,at least were talkin about it

 For what it's worth, the road is now sealed right through. It is still technically "closed" however me & me mate rode from Dongara to Perth via the coast road today. The cervantes lancelin section was superb - cos it isn't open yet we had it pretty much to ourselves ! Beats the shit out of mixing it up with all the trucks on the Brand highway.

After many years of planning and more than two years of construction, the Lancelin-Cervantes Stage 2 Project Team is proud to announce that the much anticipated Lancelin to Cervantes section of Indian Ocean Drive will be officially opened on Sunday 19th September; and will be open to traffic from 5pm on that day.

Man clocked at 194kmh on new road

A Waikiki man had his motorcycle seized yesterday after he was allegedly caught travelling 80km over the speed limit on the new Indian Ocean Drive.

The 52-year-old was allegedly clocked at 194kmh in a 110km zone by police in Grey, 44km north-west of Lancelin.

He was charged with reckless driving.
