G'day fellas..... got to the first part of my front brake upgrade today - swapping out the front rotor to a fully floating Russell rotor to go along with the second part of the upgrade which will be a PM 4-piston brake caliper and stainless cable.
I managed to get the 5 screws that hold the rotor onto the wheel off.... but damned if I can get them back on with the specified torque. The screws have that stupid harley star pattern and the only tool they sell for that star pattern is their own 8-1 screwdriver.... Well I've got one of those and I managed to snap it trying to tighten it with the help of a spanner. How do they expect you to tighten those screws down with a hand held screwdriver???
So the wheel is back together and on the bike but those screws are only hand tight when they are supposed to be 20 or 30 something ft/pounds.....
Thanks for any advice. I don't know how to post pics, but here is my photobucket address....
