    Hello all

I am in the near future needing to remove the rear guard on my 92 sportster. The elec wiring runs through some holes and connecting to the rearlight sets.

#1Is there a plug that will allow me to disconnect and pull through or do I have to cut and resolder when I have finished?.

#2 Do I have to remove the rear wheel to be able to remove the guard?

I cant see where it connects hence the reason for these questions.

Any other advice or things I need to know will be greatly appreciated and depending on the time  I  have (no idea when this will be) I might put on a few beers and snags if anyone with the know how feels compelled to show me /lend a hand  hehehe.

Hahahaha Thanks all ... your help has been invaluable.

I wil be doing it , not sure just when as I work so many weekends and dont get a great deal time off. When I am able I will get a slab and a few snags and see what happens. Deatils to come in the future sometime.

So far I have been able to make a bracket to move the ignition/key block as it will be in the way when I put the larger tank on. The have to modify the bracket that bridges both cylinders and houses the enricher cable.

Then its off with the tinware and off to the paint shop.

Kiwi I have done most of what you said. I might eb able to take the white connecter blocks off the individual wires and feed them through. When I get the time I will have another look.

Now the question is what to use to raise the bike of the ground lol bricks, timber, Maineys old crusty snags hmm they just might make a good stand hehehehe

Ok now gentlemens and Ladies , I have made the brackets for the ignition and ready to move them, I have sourced the decals I want and will get them shortly. The tank is sitting at home. All I gotta do is remove the guards and get them to the shop.

Does someone want to take my place at work so I can do this lol
