Hi all ,
My names Bob .
I have been living in Japan for the last 5 years and after 36 years and a few missed chances over that time I bought my 1st Harley one year ago, Its a xl 1200 C , pretty much standard but with different grips and side covers . I am planning on bringing it back to Australia with me next year so I will look at doing a few minor mods then.
Bike goes great , plenty of grunt when I want it and I was really surprised at how well it handles .The only problem seems to be the clutch which seems a bit strange to me ,kind of like it is shuddering ever so lightly when i get to the top end of each of the lower gears and I have to ask 'What is the story with the front brake "? Car drivers here have no hesitation in pulling out on you and I have had a few hairy moments trying to get the brake to work .The bike eventually stops but the wait seems to take an eternity !!!
The bike cost 10,000 AUS dollars and at the time had 6890 km's on it . Many non commuting bike riders here dont have time to ride and it is not unusual for bikes to sit in the garage for many weeks or months waiting to be ridden. I am happy to say that has all changed with its new owner ! The only time I dont ride it is when its wet , the slow front brake and a long running fear of wet weather riding sees me using the car everytime it rains.
Was it worth the wait ?
Hell yeah , riding the bike has confirmed what I knew I was missing out on for all those years ! !!
hey walka ,
where will that be? Japan in December is really cold so bring your longuns!
