Ok i give up, and I am going to get a Thundermax system. My problem is that I am terrible with computers so I need all the help i can get with the install, should i buy the closed or open loop? what are the benefits of each etc. It is going into an 06 softail and i am going to have a crack at it myself. Any simple to understand instructions would be really appreciated (especially if you have pics) and any problems that I might run into. So far my bike has S.E. muffs and high flow filter with race download. Thanks in advance. Also how much should I pay and where did you guys buy?

    Hi Peter,

In simpe terms, what are you planning on doing in the future and trying to achieve with whatever system you select. Thundermax is a great unit, especially if you plan to do a lot of mods in the future.

In regard to the FuelShot, yes it is readily transferable from bike to bike as long as it suits the Engine type. eg- the 06 being an 88 cu is not the same unit that would be used on a '07 96 cu. Extremely simple to use, and will handle most peoples mods out of the box. If parameters are maxed out, then we can reprogram to suit. There is no computer interface required and adjustments can be made whenever you want.

Happy to anser any questions you may have.

    Kind regards

    Mick

go the TMAX , ull never need any thing elese what ever u do to ur donk it will support it , from mild to wild to nitus to supercharging , i use one and am verry happy, im verry happy with the quick adapting it done going from adelaide sea leval, to the freezzzzzzzzing cold inland, about 80 ks and it was good again, ie no poping n shit,

IF I CAN PLAY WITH A T/MAX ANY! CAN

if ur not going to travel aust with diff riding areas or work ur donk one day ya may aswell stay with wat u got  or a cheaper setup like described above

I'm a big fan of the t/max. Have the auto tune on my 07 softail.

I'm with scotty on this one, if you are going for no auto tune you may as well save the extra bucks and stay with what you have got.

If ya can use a forum on the computer than you can set up the T/max. It aint hard.

The install is reasonably straight forward. There is enough of us who put them on to answer ant specific questions.

M&M cycles give very prompt service. 6 days from them to me.

the o2 sensors are there for the long haul and they dont fail readily. They are funnily enough designed to work in the exhaust environment. If by chance they do the t/max will just run on open loop anyway, so the bike will still get you where you want to go.

Wow,ya ask a simple question then come home from work to this, thanks guys. When I first read about the thundermax it was without autotune and everyone was raving about it and sayin how much of an improvement it would be over a download ?? I understand the benefits of autotune but I also understand that a bike can run efficiently with a carby ( not perfectly ) so to my way of thinking if I go the NON autotune I should be able to get it set up pretty well. I can live with not perfect. But what  Scotty said about not being able to find a map for it is a problem ? By the way Scotty I am not asking for someone to tell me what to buy and I only asked if it was a simple case of plugging in and riding away, you don't have to answer my questions I am just trying to understand a bit about the system so that I can make an informed decision, this sort of stuff obviously comes easier to you than me because half of the info you wrote I still dont understand, but I'm trying.

Yeah thanks Scotty,I do understand that the autotune would be a better option,my point with the carby was that once it is tuned you are trusting it to do its job just like the NON tune thundermax (assuming it has been set up correctly). Things used to be so easy, now I have 4 remote controls when all I used to do is get up and change the channel, thats progress 4 ya.

i agree ur wasting $$ if ur not going auto tune , if u ride the same level all the time its probly ok , if ur into hills sea and a mix of diff states etc u cant go past the auto, i went to coffs last yr and no some bike could feel the diff in altitude , me i felt nothing differant  i went the auto cause my bike is of tap thats the only reason , i wanted the bestwhat are u after ? more mods or just a little better performance ? ur wasting $$ if u are happy with a bit better , go with WANKER , he nos his puters/bikes inside out

Still think you should look into the Big Joe Choppers Fuel Shot Gen 111. You want performance....The proof is in the pudding.
