Checker Plate for foot plate

    Was going to put aluminium checker plate on my foot plate on the fatboy, was looking tonight and they also do a blue checker plate, has anyone done this on the foot plates and will / does it look ok?

    This is the blue checker plate I was talking about, but dont know how long the blue would last before it wore through

    And if i did go this way could you use a paint protection to build up a surface layer?

    if it's anodized it should last awhile b4 it wears throug on the high spots....get a laser cutter to trim it & it should work a treat .....

    That blue stuff looks like the cheap flexible plastic checker plate from Supercheap ?

    Nah its proper Aluminium checker plate not plastic

    I think you can also get Stainless checker plate.

    Could use a clear anti slip spray to give grip and some protection like Dymark anti-slip

    I wouldn't give the idea up altogether, 10 guage Marbi plate isn't expensive and to get a couple of sets laser cut would be cheap. You could then try chrome plating one set and having the other set painted and coated with a urethane clear.

    You have an idea which would be quite unique and will be your own personal touch

    Nothing lost in the end at least. The Ness one's look pretty trick. Are they Stainless ?
