Hi fellas,

Am visiting my father in Garfield at the moment and as part of my return journey I am considering travelling the M1 to Geelong.

My question is, do motor bikes pay the toll on the M1 or are they free?

Don't know what the rules are, however when I take my bike on the toll ways in victoria, I don't get a letter from them. Where as every single time I am in the car they either give me a letter explaining the tollways as I am from interstate or a fine, $40 or $120.

Pretty sure that Eastlink is the only road where bikes get tolled.

I've been on CityLink (the M1 tollway through the city area) a number of times and never got a letter.

   NOTHING for bikes .....  on the M1                                                     YET   ????????  

they get their revenue from the speed cameras hidden on the over head bridges & behind road signs ...

they take your pic of REAR Number plate over here. ( if they cant see ya plate they cant charge ya???   )

EASTLINK motorcycle tolls range from 18 cents up to a toll cap of $2.63.

Motorcycles don't need tags and are not charged image processing fees.

As Crackers says, Eastlink will hit ya , but citilink won't. Works out well for me, I've only ever used Eastlink once, and I use Citilink about 6 times a week.
