I have a 2007 883C with standard forards controls on it.  Having short leg syndrome it feels uncomfortable during a decent length ride.  Can you fit mid mounts ( from a XL883 /1200 /nighter /iron ) to a custom.

I know most people do the exact opposite but would be curious to know if anyone else has done this ?

 

Yes you can, and I'd certainly like to be first to offer a straight swap for my Iron 883 mid mounts if you're keen. Sadly I'm afflicted by tall-ass syndrome (I'm 6-1) so mid controls are rather cramped for me and would prefer forwards myself. If you're in Sydney we could make a day of it!

i,m 6"1' on a sporty custom but have 4.75" extended fwds-(lots of room).........

Well have installed the mids, havent had enough time to go for a decent length ride yet ( bloody melbourne weather ) but so far i think it suits me better than the forwards. Just have to get used to putting foot straight down when cooming to a stop- i keep hitting the pegs at the moment. Overall it was a fairly easy job to do, about the hardest thing was removing the lower exhaust pipe ( not very hard ) to get at the rear brake lever rod mount.
