Ok a few months ago I put a set of Progressive 412's shocks on my Sportie and have notice a vast ride improvement and comfort on my bike.

Now for a budget shock I feel these are good value far better than the Harley item's and I could not afford a set of Ikon's or other brands of shocks they were out of my price range with the budget I had so here lies my problem why do so many knock the Progressive shocks just to give you an idea on another forum I visit there was a post there saying from a Harley mechanic that these shocks are shit and they are no better than the Harley items sorry to say from my own experience I find this to be untrue.

Ok as I said I know there are better shocks out there but at a higher cost I suppose it's like most thing's in life you get what you pay for but I am very happy with the shocks I got and I am just wondering how many of the knockers out there have ever had them fitted on there bike so anyone else here have Progressive shocks and are you happy with them cheers.

I recently purchased Ikon rears ($585) and made a huge difference. Since then I have fitted the Ikon fork springs ($168). Talk to Geoff @ Proven Products on (02) 6040 9955 and here is the web site http://www.ikonsuspension.com.au/ Pity HD couldn't make the suspension for Aussie buyers.

You need to do a bit of research on whether you get standard or heavy duty.   I've got heavy duty 412's and I weigh 86kg.   I have them on the lowest setting and have found them a bit harsh on rough roads.

i`m close to 110 myself so i think the heavy duties are the way to go for me too, did you notice much differance on the front end choco? i don`t mind the front as standard, is it a hard job to switch the front springs? and did you put heavier oil in as well? thanks for all this feed back, i likr to be able to do it once and right. thanks 308

Guys, if you change the front fork springs I recommend you change the fork oil too. I also moved the forks up 5mm, effectively lowering the front and reducing the rate. I am very happy with the results. The bike turns into the corners so much better. If you use the Ikon front fork springs they come with a 50mm spacer. I shortened mine to 40mm. With these changes and the rear Ikon shocks the bike is soooo much better. Happy biking!

choco!!!! that is the biggest improvement in a bike i`ve ever seen,i  fitted 12 inch HD to the rear, and progressive springs to the front, with original spacers and belray 20w oil, what a farkin` huge improvement, i can not get the suspension to bottom out at all now, the fronts used to bottom out under firm braking, now they go down to about 80% on really heavy braking, anyone thinking about upgrading their bike suspension should do it now while the dollar is so good, it cost me A$425 shipped from OneStopMoto.com to my door, in a week! the oil was another 30 bucks, gotta get out and ride it more soon (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((-:
