Just wondering when I change my clutch cable do I loose all the gear box oil when I take the outer cover off???

 I have done this myself recently and if you do it while the bike is on the side stand and lift the clutch side slightly you will lose fuck all.

Go for it Sparra did it for the first time on the weekend, softail just on side stand, maybe lost a tablespoon of oil. easy job. I wasted a bit of alfoil makin sure the oil I lost went into an Ice cream container (hear that Houndog) wasnt worth the alfoil. Cheers Burnzi

I was thinking the same thing Burnzi(saving the oil)...Did you get away with the same gasket or did you put a new one on???

same gasket mate no leaks so far

Hey Houndog rest assured mate I did clean the ice-cream container out, bound to need it for more stray bolts from the next fix-up. Its funny the more I do to me bike the lighter it seems to feel??

ive just done mine on the wide glide - i dumped the oil first and also put on a new gasket - filled back up with fresh oil - if ya gunna put on a new cable may as well do the oil while yer at it.
