Have you bought a new pillion seat that is actually usable yet?

I bought a new 2010 Softail Deluxe in July. Had to go out the very next day and buy what HD call a 'Touring Pilion Seat' as the pillion seat supplied is unusable. The wife was bruised around her seating area and could not sit on it again. I don't blame her. At $260 I got it home and discovered that it doesn't even come with the rear fastening bracket. This is just a 2" chromed piece of flatbar with 2 holes drilled in it. They sell that separate again. RUDE.

Insurance.. Like 'stilllooking72' said, you should have received 1 year HD comprehensive insurance with your purchase if bought at a dealer. It is a HD promotion. I received it with mine as well as soem of the others on this forum. If you didn't I would look into it if I were you.

Enjoy the bike. They really are a great machine.

cc rider - when we first looked at the bike I made a few jokes about the size of the pillion seat and was thinking of getting the 12inch seat to replace the standard but I find it fine.  In saying that we haven't done any big rides yet- max of 3hrs so far so no doubt will be looking to upgrade before a decent trip.  Was also considering some new footpegs? Sorry to hear about your wifes bruising- OUCH!!  What colour bike did you buy?

As far as insurance- we picked the bike up as a demonstrator with 300kms with a heap of extras and a few things done to it. Ended up going with insure my ride.
