Hubby and I have just purchased our first bike....2010 Softail Deluxe.

So so so excited...we pick it up next week.

Just in the process of getting quotes for insurance- wondering if you had any advice on companies?

I just bought my first Harley, 2010 Wideglide, and I got free 12 months full comp. insurance through the dealer .

Did you buy yours through a Harley dealer ?

They quoted me $830 for it (if I had to pay) but when I received the insurance papers, it was $720. I queried this wih the salesman and he said, they get it cheaper because of the shear volume they sign up, and next year when I get my renewal, he said to go back to them and he should be able to get it cheaper than quoted.

We are in SE QLD and definitely keen to do some riding with anyone from that area!

I will do the ring around for the insurance- the dealer said they can do the insurance but I thought it was worth sussing it out.

The deluxe and colour choice- it was my hubby's pick- I wanted a Fat Boy LO-loved the black denim-looks mean and tough

but in saying that the Deluxe is beautiful in her own shiny way- I bet she will turn some heads.

To answer your insurance question (and if it isn't too late) you may want to get a quote from New England Insurance Brokers (NEIB). I have a 09 Ultra Classic covered by them for $550/year without riding gear cover. The excess is $400, no under 25's, and full replacement value for 2 years. You can custom tailor the riding gear coverage if you have really expensive helmets, leathers, etc but I have none of those items.

Contact Jeremy on 07 4681 2877. His mum might answer the phone but she will help you too. NEIB provides a lot of coverage for the Ulysses group.
