    hey all,

I'm throwing on some black fat bob triple trees, epoxy painting my fork leg lowers and fitting some different bars, those parts are on route from the states (after trying real hard to get exactly what I wanted locally and/or with out getting ripped off) no luck there so to M&M Cycles I went.

Special thanks to Walka who tried to help out with the bars, but I'm a fussy bastard...

Made up the needed spacers the other day at work and ripped down the front end today.

Also made a spring compressor as last time, when I fitted my race tech springs, I had a hell of a time refitting the caps. I never changed the fork oil last time either as I didn't take the forks right out of the bike so will do that now as they are certainly off the bike now!! heres some pics so far.....

    bike on stands I made

a few shots of the T6 Alloy spacer I made to keep the rotor lined up with caliper, I just have to drill the through hole for mounting bolts....

    old axle / wheel spacer

new stainless steel tapered spacer I knocked up

    Spring compressor

sorry if I bored you...   feel free to comment.........

    Daggs.

    Thats going to look good.

I am in the process of upgrading the front end of my 09 FXDC at the moment i am fitting 40mm thick wide glide triple trees with 3 degrees of rake + 2" over tubes.

The forks already have race tech springs and gold valves fitted, i am going to fit a 21" wide glide renagade pheonix front wheeI i am also going to put a 6.250 x 17 pheonix rim on the back it will be fitted with a dyna hub so all should bolt up ok could you let us know if you had any issues when you fitted your wheel was there any problems with the belt clearance which tyre did you use or anyuseful info you can pass on.

I'm not interested in any extra rake or 21" wheel, just wanted wider trees so went the Fat Bob trees,

heres my rear 200 mod post, all the info is there

Sounds like it will be a good thing Daggs...Don't suppose you or anyone else know wether there is a manufactured spacer kit available to space out a narrow glide 19" wheel to fit a Softail front end???

yeah I'll put up some pics when I'm Finished, over the weekend sometime.

The trees were $198 US from M&M Cycles in the states

As for a spacer kit, no i don't know sorry, its not something I would buy but I'm sure something would be available in america

nice job so far - awesome idea for the stands , hold the bike fairly sturdy?

    very sturdy...

to lift the rear I just put my floor jack under the rear frame, just in front of the swingarm.

depending on what Im doing then I can put my car axle stands under the swingarm.

Solid as a rock. There is obviously some rubber strip in the piece that goes under the forward controls so the chrome doesn't get marked.

Hilly, yeah pretty cheap i thought too, $400 from the dealers here...

in the US the standard mid glide top triple tree alone costs US$300+ but the complete black Fat bob wide trees are only $198 ???

Stretch, yeah mate that sounds good, You'll have it sorted mate !!

I'm still waiting for my new bars to arrive as well, internal wire them too, thats a fun job let me tell you lol
