What a load of Fucking Wank

What the fuck are you hoping to achieve by spreading this crap

You trying to scare people away from coming to SA? Because that is all you are going to achieve by sprouting this bullshit

I dont agree with the bikie bill and I understand the wider implications but to liken this with the Nazi regime is just childish in the extreme, FFS grow up

What? You think that when you jump on your scooter you are going to be grabbed and locked up for five years for just riding a bike? Get real Paul

It would be nice to see a bit of maturity come into this argument instead of spreading bullshit and fear mongering crap

    Get a grip FFS

    CRNT

You are right ..it is Paul's right to speak up and I personally don't agree with him pulling it down, put it out there for comments - good or bad... I dont agree with what he has put up mind you but that doesnt mean he should pull it down either

but the fact of speaking up is also the right of others ...and if they dont like or agree on what someone else is saying then they can say something else ... and if you dont like what purnong says then you also have the right not to read what he has said

I think you have missed the fact that purnong has agreed that the bikie bill is wrong, what he is asking is that the discussion be legit, not based upon fear ... he is simply choosing a different method of fighting it and suggesting a different method to what was put up

you want people to join in against the bill, then dont shoot people down for having a different opinion to yours ... that is one way of pushing people away from helping

I agree with Purnong, it's important to keep the whole "bikie bill" in perspective, I think SA in general has copped some pretty bad press nation wide over the whole issue. This is still (and will continue to be) a great place to live and ride. I disagree with the laws, not because the intention of them is bad but because they haven't been very well thought out. But I also beleive that they have as much relevance for the average bike rider in SA as they do for the average skate boarder.

The general population should have nothing to worry about, however the powers that be will enforce these laws and they won’t always get it right. I believe there will be innocent casualties resulting from these laws. They should have targeted those that are individual criminals as apposed to exposing all citizens to these laws. It seems like a lot on time, money and effort for very few people.

In a way, I agree with what Purnong says (maybe not the way he says it, but that's irrelevant). I was going off tangent to some degree and mentioned something not directly relevant (merely a consequence under the -worst- possible circumstances).

Don't get me wrong here - I'm not making excuses for me or justifying anything I say or whatever. I have been working on this for some months now, an very weary of the whole effn thing and probably have lost some touch with reality. The slap in the face by Purnong made me "wake up" a bit so I actually thank him for that.

I do not want to suggest SA is not worth coming to visit and the last thing I want to do is to create any ill-feelings here or between anybody who rides (anything..). We do have some of the best roads for bikes anywhere all within easy reach of Adelaide!

One reason why I came here (and I very much see myself as a visitor and guest here - thankyou) is to talk with people who are most likely to be directly affected by this stupid law and get feedback. I -AM- as mad as hell about this law and will defend anyone who is unjustly affected by it by whatever means at my disposal. Since the SA attorney-General Michael Atkinson has on numerous occasions called this an "experiment" clearly suggests that if this succeeds here in SA it will more than likely proceed to other states.

It is important now more than ever to be coherent (thanks for the slap!) and work together. I believe EVERYONE who cares in any way is doing something - whatever they can, even if it's just telling friends who may not know about it. We (as motorcyclists regardless of ride) ARE making an impact and nitpicking each other ain't helping.. I don't care if you think I'm a woose 'cause I ride a maxi or whatever (I had a serious bike accident 1998 and there's not much else I can ride without pain and I shouldn't even BE riding), but I am working for ALL of you.

As soon as I can, I will let you know what is happening, but it tends to be hour by hour at the moment. There are a few things in the pipeline, but since this is now more a legal issue than an ethical/moral debate (parliament has finished with it) there is some real heavy duty work from here on in.

You may feel that my likening SA to a STASI state is ridiculous, but this law will effectively make it so. Most people won't be arrested only because the cops choose NOT to. This is no way to live and is certainly NOT a free state. I for one absolutely refuse to live with the sword of Damacles hanging over my head and it is that principle in which I declared on TV that I would be prepared to go to gaol.

I have requested the Federal Attorney-Generals department look into this (via my local Fed. Rep.) as this SA law contradicts many federal freedoms and protections under law. I believe the wheels are in motion but I can neither confirm nor deny it so far. She has also asked the SA A-G for a "please explain" which had my name plastered all over it (so believe me when I say I have no friends in parliament nowadays..)

Please don't argue with each other here, certainly not on my behalf. Just remember, "I'm only here to annoy you!" (and it looks like I'm doing a good job on that!)

    Thanks.

I read some where yesterday that the bikie laws in SA will be chellenged in the High Court.

The South Australian Government says it fully expected a legal challenge to laws aimed at bikie gangs.

An Adelaide barrister claims rival gangs are uniting to challenge the legislation in the High Court.

The laws allowing police to place control orders on individuals, limit where they go and who they talk to have been condemned by the Law Society and Bar Association.

Acting Premier Kevin Foley says the bikies will be wasting their money and the legislation is watertight.

"Perhaps a little surprised, maybe we shouldn't be, that a bunch of do gooders would want to hop into bed with the bikies and defend their civil liberties and their rights in the High Court of Australia," he said.

"I think mums and dads of this state wanting their families and societies kept safe from these filth would not view that at all well and would be horrified at the thought."

I have a mate who lives in QLD rides a harley , has a long beard he is a rather large bloke a bit over 6ft . not a bikie but a biker who ride,s with his wife on the back they dont where patchs or colors and it,s mostly by there selfs that they ride .
i was talking to him on the phone thursday about these laws in SA and he said it is allready like that in QLD because everytime he goes for a ride he gets pull over and harassed, it is at the point now where he could not be bothered to go for a ride . they pull him over do a licence check , go over the bike and do a history check on him ask a heap of questions and then let him go on his way . how would it be in QLD if the anti bikie laws get in there . its bad enough now.
    Cheers Slider
