IAC behavior

    Hi guys !

I've got a question for those who knows...

Looking at some of my datamaser records, I've found my IAC position always moving between some values, let's say between 20 and 50, except when iddle where it stands relatively still around 20...

It is following MAP and TPs variations....

Seems to be normal as it happens on my records and some of my friend's, and I've looked at numerous records...

But when I looked at the records avalaible as sample on the TTS (in the "Sample Data" directory), I find the IAC nearly always showing a constant value (let's say 28-29) and nearly never moving from there...

Can someone explain this ? Is it normal to have IAC moving up and down along the ride ?

    What's exactly it's function ?

Thank you for the link, Stix, I'm gone take a look...

What about your own IAC ? is it jumping all around ?

The IAC will change when the bike is being ridden. It is called "Throttle Follower" and is in place to keep the motor from stalling if someone is at high RPM and then closes the throttle all the way.

Ok, thank you for the answers ...

So, the IAC follows the throttle opening and keep it opened in case of a sudden closing, enough to prevent the motor of stalling with air starvation...
