Looking at Baggers / Granny glides. Not to fussed on what year but budget looks like it will be a late evo or possibily a 88" engine.
A lot of these bikes have high (70k - 130k) kms but that seems to be offset a little in that they are usually pretty stock, well kept and come with good service history etc etc.
I appreciate there is a hell of a lot of factors to take into consideration but how many kms before a engine or trans rebuild? Worst case scenario is obvious but what is a ballpark average?
Apart from service history, receipts and compresion / engine tests are there any other tell tale signs?
There are a lot of bikes around at the moment. Depends on how much you're willing to spend. You can pick up Road King from !$19,000 to $24,000 all with low ish k's. I would certainly be asking to see service history, and I would personally like to buy privately rather than through a dealer, but that's your call. http://www.bikesales.com.au

$18,500, bargain considering the work done,
I am always surprised by the asking price of some old bikes 30-40% discount for a 10-15 years old bike over a new RKC 103 2011, that looks crazy what ever the blings. Were the bikes much more expensive new 10-15 years ago compare to now ( $28,000 for a new with 2 y warranty and you can get secured financing) ?
