Your bike looked much better when I last saw it on these pages before it got wiped out by the cage driver. You were bloody lucky and I am surprised that you didnt kick in all her doors and windows while she was still sitting in it...I hope that you drained the oil while it was on its side as it would have been real easy to see the plug..Ha Ha, sorry about that..Hope that you get up and running soon.
Got the quote $7295 to fix.
But I will still be arguing the point on a few parts. Seems they missed some during the evaluation.
To their credit, the guys at NT Motorcycle centre have said that they will not stand for any repairs, all new bits as it is an anniversary model. Quote: It'll be as good as new. Unquote. S'pose we'll have to seee what the assessor says.
On another side of the story, I asked how long. They reckon 6 - 8 weeks. Why I asked. The story goes.... It doesn't matter who you deal with...Honda, Yamaha, Triumppphh, Harley, Hyonsunggggg or whoever the parts are ordered, they come in a shipping container. It's 'the way it is' apparently.
I enquired if they can get the bike back on the road and I'll bring it back when the rest turns up, just needs a new front mastercylinder. Not a problem they said. Here's hoping.
Went to the pysio today at work 'cause my wrists are still giving me shit and he reckons I've snapped ligaments. He grabbed my forearm and hand, moved it from side to side and said, 'shit'. That's not good. Not much they can do. Just have to push for total movement again. Hope it doesn't affect the rest of my riding days.
Magila, I hope you and your bike recover soon.
The exact thing happened to my mate. he rides the Triumph Daytona, he got home, hanged to a T-shirt, shorts and thongs and went to the nearby deli to buy milk. He got cleaned up by a some stupid motherf*^#ker driving a ute on a rondabout. The prick did not stop after the crash. My mate ended in hospital for 2 weeks and the bike was a total write off!!!
It shows that even if you go for a short ride you have to dress up!!!
I read this thread and said "hope I never have to go through it"
wednesday 25th, a car didnt see me, I was in the right lane with a car infront of me in the left lane turning left, as I came past it a commadore like a zero out of the sun was infront of me, so as I WAS TRYING TO STOP, my bike was trying to get into the drivers door, the poor girl had a bad case of the wake ups, she had a sore hip from impact, and a small scare after three Red Devils and a Hells Angel stopped to help out, poor girl thought she had knocked over a bikie and the rest would come for her. one Devil (he is my tattoist who I had an appointment with, thats where I was going) went and got a trailer to take my bike straight to the repair shop. Who said they were all lowlifes.
I was lucky, sore arms from trying to stop 120kgs hitting a car and a couple little abraitions on my wrist from the mirror.
Glad ur OK.
It sux brother. 5 weeks down the track and still waiting for parts to arrive.
My wrists still give me grief but not having the bike hurts more
Your not alone.
The week I went to Darwin to get my wrists Xrays done, I had a vehicle coming towards me, doing 'round 130k/hr, (Territory speed limit) put 2 wheels in the dirt and did a bit of a wobble, flick back onto the road and miss me by the obilatory 'hair on a bees dick'.
Yes I shit!
I too thought to myself, 'what have I done to deserve this bad Karma'
I rang the bike shop today to see how the bike repairs are going. Nothing changed from last week. Not touched.
Harley mechanic isn't here, 'he's AWOL'. Supposed to be back Monday.
Then once he gets through his backlog he'll check to see if all the parts have arrived and then they can tell me how long it's going to be. 'Ring next Friday', and I might have some news' he said
I am thinking I may get slightly pissed off shortly if this keeps up.
