I think I would buy the baffles, without baffles you will most likely find that the pipes will give off a crackling sound..........ever heard shotguns. The baffles with help reduce this and add a little backpressure, which will help your torque.

Skull , The baffles will help, You can also install torque tubes that go between the head and the pipe, They work great to get back back presure, I would also check your plugs ,the bike will be very lean with a open exhaust, I tried my bike with open pipes once , the thing wouldn't rev over 4000 ,also popped and farted real bad, Im never doing that again

    Hey Skull

Glad that things worked out as I mentioned they should. The baffles just take the edge off the sound and get rid of the crackle, and make the bike more rideable in my opinion.Glad things worked out

Just added the quite baffles to my Staggered longs.

    Easy as pie.
Took about an hour as I didn't really know what I was doing.
So that was 50 Mins for the first and 10 mins for the second. :-)

    Sound is much better.
    Low loud rumble.
That ear piercing crackle has now gone and they are still plenty loud.
I would recommend to anyone who wants to go with V&H pipes.
