Many thanks to the forum members who have provided valuable info on choosing engine oil, I have settled with Amsoil here in WA based on price, quality and availability.

Now do I stick with OEM oil filters or are there better ones out there, skuze the ignorance but new to all this and want to do most of my servicing from now on, do I need the special HD tool to remove the filter.

Frazers have done all my servicing to date but bike is just about out of warranty, will give me a chance to get to know it a bit better.

Thanks pizzlin, I suppose high flow oil filters are more than 5 micron.

Best to stick with OEM me thinks

    Cheers

I use a K+N 171B oil filter, it has 17mm hex on the filter end so a socket or spanner can be used to remove it. Makes life easy. As with all K+N filters they exceed factory specifications and are designed for synthetic oils. I have used this type of filter for years with no problems.

a shock spanner gets old filter off well .dont spill oil on rubber mount. k@n r good as well as s@s .evo filters r 10 micros can be used the oil flows thru and doesnt bypass as it can on 5 micros ot full bore
