I heard that the US do not have the LED blinkers & brake light system like we do here which seems a bit strange.

Take the dummy fitting off the bike and open it up. You will have plenty of room to add some red led strip - before and after pics shown of my 2012 FLHX.

That looks sweet graham , kool mod , just gotta ditch the reflector and wide`arse number plate and she`ll be all shmick hey !

You can buy the led strip from lots of places i.e Jaycar or most weekend markets sell led strip in 10 metre lengths or 50 metre rolls. I used an offcut of multi colour led strip that I had leftover from a previous job and just used the red leds.
If you buy a 10 metre strip you can use the remaining strip as a light source under the dash of your car or as backlighting for the TV etc and it is about $25 for 10m.

The hardest part of the job is prising the dummy case apart which is not difficult. I used the led strip with the adhesive backing and laid it out back and forth inside the dummy case and it does the job nicely as you can see.

I ran the wiring up to the left hand side cover where there is a spare plug that has +12 volts when the ignition is on and that is all you have to do.
