Hi I am looking at fitting  an alarm to my 01 Fatboy ( none on it at present) I can replace the TSM with part number 68207-00D which gives me immobiliser and flashing lights, I also wanted to fit the optional smart siren part number 68319-01 on reading says it fits  softails with a security system fitted. Hopefully some one can tell me before i purchase the siren if the wiring  and connector is there already and by fitting the  TSSM is that what the wording means. Siren fits up in front of rear wheel so cant see without taking wheel off

    Cheers

I have fitted what you are wanting to an 02 Heritage. The alarm exchanges with the indicator unit and is a plug and play if you have a carby. The siren plugs into the unit.. Mine had the fitting removed at some stage and I cable tied the siren to the plastic inner guard that you remove to access it all. The whole job takes about half an hour. If you have an injected bike it can be a bit trickier with getting the ECU to relate to the new sensor.  I sourced the complete kit from M& M Cycles in the States at under half the AU cost.  If you need walking thru it, pm me. beagle

Thanks Beagle just the info i was after, Mine is a carby model picked up the TSSM from usa for  third of local price, had to pay full price for siren local tho , Instructions in kit say remove rear wheel yet in service manual it says to replace TSM just take off rear inner guard ,  Half hour job for you? I figure it was just the guard. Kit comes with cable ties so fitting must not be a real issue. Kit also comes with wiring harness, Is tihs the one back to the TSM( mine wont likely have this harness as its never had an alarm. Main problem i may have will be putting passowrd etc in fob lol,  i can never get that bit right so may call on your help then, i have the manual wiuth all the destructions so when it arrives in a week or so i will go to it

Cheers and thnaks for the assistance

I found it was easiest getting to it from the non muffler side. Jack the bike up so its straight, remove the inner guard, two screws, and have a close look at everything. Remove the flasher unit and basically plug the new unit in and connect to the harness which is bundled up under the frame with a cable tie with a plug in it. There should be a slot for the siren, if not drill a couple of holes in the plastic inner guard and cable tie the siren to that. Follow the instructions with setting the remote unit. The biggest issue is manually programming the flasher switches with a back up code if you lose the hand unit. Just take your time and look at the diagram and match it to your bike. Make sure you have plenty of light to see what you're doing. Don't try this in a dark garage with only an overhead light. Good luck. beagle
