Went for a ride to lobethal today with a mate, on the way we were stopped & told to turn around & go another way due to the fact that two riders had taken a spill. Two ambos & one rescue chopper were called to the scene so lets hope there were no fatalitys..

Got back to Ace harley tours in the port & was told another rider headed to the sedan pub show had been hit & dragged by a car AGAIN hoping no fatalitys.

STAY SAFE OUT ON THE ROADS GUYS its not good to hear about this stuff happening. (keeping my fingers crossed for those involved).

The guy heading to Sedan was a mate of someone in our group.  They were heading up to Sedan seperately from us.  Got run over by a car while turnig into a servo, car went right over him from what I was told.  Unbelievable.  He was in hospital with some pretty serious injuries last I heard.  Best wishes to him and the others involved in accidents.

Yesterday on the way to the meet point I was right behind a cotton top in the next lane.  Was only 2 meters away from him, he came right into my lane, no indicator, he didn't see or hear me (despite my pipes).  That's why I never cruise beside a car if I can help it.

In the sunday mail today it said the accident near Lobethal was an inexperienced rider that had strayed into the opposite lane & had a head on with a tourist bus, By some miracle he didnt sustain any life threatning injuries.

FYI my mate had 2 broken ribs, internal injuries, 2 fractured vertebrate ,and bruised spleen. I got some pics sent to me from the blokes at the scene. Hit from behind, bike shot out and he went under the car and rolled. Car ended up on top of the bike, New 2 week old Buell that he just got.

Was heading into town today in my 4wd, was approaching a water truck heading in opposite direction, high bank on each side of the road, as i approached the truck a sports bike came out from behind him at full force to over take the truck, poor girl on the back, i braked hard, bike kept coming, obviously hoping i would go bush, lucky for rider and poor girl i went bush, well gave him enough room to squeeze between me and truck, it was already a fairly narrow road.....why?....my guess is he is a fool.

That accident happened at the BP Smithfield. I have been getting some more info on the outcome and his choices but will confirm before posting. Well at least he is alive.

Mate had his fractured discs fused last night. He had a choice of Disc Fusion or a brace for 12 months he chose the fusion. 6hrs under the knife and was told things look good so far. But for thos3e that have had a disc fusion will know that the discs either side of the fused disc take up the pressure from that disc and wear at a faster rate than normal. This may end up affecting him in later life with back problems. Other than that he is fine and has been moved down to a normal ward.
