Hi we have a 2008 Nighster and am interested in finding a suitable windshield for it. Are there any nightster riders who have one and if so can they post photos or recommend any? My wife is the rider and is only 5'3"so we are looking at small ones. Any advise on windshields would be great. Cheers
I got this for about $200 from my local HD mechanic Colin ?? can't remember his 2nd name at the moment, he fitted it for that price, but could have fitted it myself. Acrylic is easy to cut yourself if it is too high for the little missus. There are some posts in here about the subject. I bought mine for a trip to Perth & back, glad I had it on the rainy days & especially the day I hit the locust plague. And having said that make sure that you (or she) your vision up the road starts about 5 m up the road or you will be trying to look around it on a day when the insects are about in no time at all. I would not have had a chance to see where I was going after about 1 minute after hitting the locust plague on my way back from WA & I still had about 6 hrs to go to get home in weather including fog & darkness. It is easy to take off & put back on but I would not call it quick release. I took it off the other day (yeah winter here on the border) cos I replaced the oil in my forks. After I took the bike for a run to se how good the new fork oil & Ikon springs were handling I put the screen back on quick smart cos its bloody cold down here.
Happy riding
That sounds good steamer, take another pic & post it up here??
I put one on my Softy and took it off again quick smart...I seem to be buffetted alot from the wind coming under it and then up against my chest...Don't know if this is the norm but it just wasn't for me...In saying that I still have it and will more than likely give it another run...
Cheers...Sparra
Funny about that mine is fine, but years ago I put a bikini fairing on a 900 Honda Bol ' d ' orr & it used to get real sketchy up around the 180kmph i.e. tank slappers, almost kilt me & the missus
