     Hello Lads

I am in the death throws of negotiating the purchase of this Fatty and just wanted to know how many Kms you should get out of a set of tyres?

I ask because this puppy has only 11,000 and the tyres are screwed?  I take it he has been riding it hard!!

    Cheers

    Mongrel

Dunno the make of the tyre!! Doesn't matter - if I buy the used bike, they are replacing the tyres anyway.

Softail Deluxe, with stock Dunlops . Got 17,500 out of the last rear, about 22,000 from the front. Up to 12,000 currently, will probably go another 4,000 on the rear, front has got heaps of tread.

09 Softail with stock Dunlop am pushing 10,000 and the rear tyre is just about ready for replacement, I have heard some guys only got as little as 5000 out of their stock rear tyres, but they admit to riding pretty hard.

05 Fatty- still has original dunlops on, 20 000 km's. Front is about 2/3 worn, back is 3/4 worn with a nice flat middle section. I think tyres are hardened up now so I don't know how long they will go for. Have a set of Michelin Commandos in waiting. Oh yeah bike isn't ridden that hard, mostly country km,s, ridden 2 up for about 10 000 km's

05 Electra 69,000kms. Mainly touring. Original tyres 20,000 rear 40,000 front.  Replacement rears around 20,000. Front should get close to 40,000. All Dunlops.

I'm glad I read this as I have about 5,000kms on my heritage and was thinking the tyres will probably need replacing soon...guess I'm just used to replacing the tyres on the 1098 after about 3,000kms. The Harley will be a bargain to keep on the road in comparison.
