Brisbane, up centre QLD to Cairns and then back down the coast

1 week to go before we head off. can't wait!!!

Building rear bag rack for my Sportster 

I did the same trip 3 years ago on my 1200 sporty but from Clermont i cut back to Mackay and up tp Port Douglas.

i spent the first night in the roma pub and the owner let my lock the bike away in his shed out the back of the pub, just ask him if you stay there overnight.

Last day of work today!!, weekend to pack and finish bike off. Rack is now made need to attach the power socket (the kids always want to jump into every pic i take)

Dad flys in Monday morning from Darwin. He picks up Bike from Morgan and Wacker G.C. on Thursday morning and then we head off to Roma first stop.

I see you're heading through Caboolture, if you stop up here for fuel let me know ..I'll meet up and shout ya's a coffee as well in King st.

Set off late on the 3rd after picking up dads bike. With sunlight running out and strong winds from toowoomba to dalby. We headed north to Jandowae and the pub let us lock the bikes in the rear yard. You get what you paid for $20 per night (thin walls)

As we came into town the engine light come on... Now change of direction to harly kingaroy..

Day two 4th first stop Kingaroy (baby it till it's checked). Now found problem to be the throttle cable adjustment, 2 zipties and $20 for the labour (1 hour) thanks boys Kingaroy Motorcycles now running sweat again.

Now with that out of the way up to Murgon, Ban Ban Springs (for lunch) Mundubbera then monto and got a cabin at Cania Gorge.

Day 3, 5th Left Cania Gorge and fuel in Biloenla, Mount Morgan (pub lunch and beer!!) Rockhampton, yappoon (early day, did the washing and relook at the map.

Now will be heading up north.

              only just caught your post  this morning wished i had of seen it earlier to give some hints coz ive done that trip twice now, in the last 2 yrs

    once two up with missus and once solo with  3 other riders

     it is a great run !!!!!!!

    there are a few long hauls along there in places but fuel stops are close enough ...... longest stretch is either side of belyando crossing...... pretty good road around there as well ........ surprisingly

    check out around the atherton tablelands....great riding   beautiful country

     be aware of  lots of  stunted brahamn cattle and  roos  between mt carbine and  cooktown

  call into chop suey louies in cooktown they have a couple of rooms above the restraunt that they rent out onight we have stayed at..... and can recommend for the price
