Day 4, bigger ride (around 550kms) today and got it out the way from Rocky to Airlie Beach, will spend a few days here and have a look around and rest. The cabin that they gave us the driveway is about 30deg ok for the sporty but not the old mans bike " src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif" />

       

Day5, rest day in Airlie Beach. The bikes are unloaded and will have a good ride around and see the sights.

 

      

Day 6, made it to Townsville and have set up camp. Having a drink and will set off in the morning to Atherton.

Total kms so far 1961kms and haven't got to the top yet and have to come back

Oi, Adam .... what dýa mean "the old man's bike" ?????????????  More of the bike, a lot less of the "old man", my son !!!!  Mum xx

Day 7, left Townsville after bacon and egg brekky. To Ingham for fuel, then Cardwell (drink in the pub, over looking the water nice spot) up to innisfail for lunch then cut left to Millaa Millaa (start of the best part of the ride, mountain roads, all green hills and cows)
Cooler than the coast temp wise nice change. Ended up at Woodlands Tourist Park in Atherton ( booked in for 2 nights ) will have a good look around tomorrow.

       

Easy day today just a run to Mareeba for pub lunch and drink. In the morning off to Cooktown.

Day 9, good ride to Cooktown, roads are good and only 2 patches of rain.
Correct cattle on the road, was fun on the way in.

 

       

The Lions Den is just south of Cook Town but worth the stop so is Black Mountain , pretty spooky no soil but trees growing out of it and and frogs that bears it;s young , no eggs.

Today, Cooktown to Port Douglas great ride and roads.

No doubt Adam will post pics and news soon, but from Port Douglas they travelled to Cairns, left the bikes in safe custody ith a friend and then took the ferry over to Fitzroy Island for the weekend. Had a fantastic time over there walking the trails, kayacking, wining and dining .... Caught the ferry back to Cairns yesterday afternoon and left this morning for some place or another south-bound. The support and enthusiasm they've received from the Forum has been great !! Lots of good advice and great humour ...

We had a few days on Fitzroy island and picked up the bikes this morning. Set back in Ingham, Dads front brake assembly dropped a bolt out and had come loose, found a thanks to Repco and back under way will push on and I think we will get to Bowen...

Day 14, 16th picked up the bikes from friends house thanks Val for the storage under the house over the weekend.
Had a ball on Fitzroy Island.
Headed out of Cairns and first stop Innisfail (fuel) then to Cardwell for lunch and beer, pushed on past Townsville and starting to run out of light pulled in at Ayr (overnight).

Day 15, Ayr to Bowen (for breakfast) and use the Internet thanks Maccas then on to Sarina tune stopped in at Sarina Beach Motel, nice place right on the beach and had a feed in the restaurant and a drink (of course)... Ready to leave early for a big run.

Day 16, Sarina Beach to sarina, Marlborough to Rocky to Miriam Vale then to Bundy. Man my ass is sore, cooked dinner and ready for bed. 610km day wanted to catch up with a mate tomorrow then and to spend the night on the sunshine coast then home...
