Long rides full face Shoei multitech. Quiet, good ventilation and very comfortable.

Mate had half his jaw ground off on the road and they used some ribs to put it back together. What price on safety hey?

     I like my face

Each to their own I guess, the Kiwi HD riders seem to love the black full face, cant stand em myself.
Wore em for the first couple of years of my riding days, late seventies, on jappas, then lost my best mate to a u-turner cage at less than 60 kays!. Coroners report = riders neck broken when chin piece of full face contacted road!
Truth is, after contact with car, he got some air and should have just just landed headfirst on road, the helmet apparently contributed to the broken neck.
Maybe with an openface, he may still be with us, albeit with a fucked up face/jaw!....maybe dead anyway, we'll never know I guess.
Anyway, I have not, and will not wear a full face again!...... but thats my call.........what worries me is all you people that are afraid of what might happen to you if you fall off/ crash!
That risk is part and parcel of riding a bike, if your worried about what if?..... how can you enjoy riding?

    Taffy,

I did the same research a few years back and if schuberth sold helmets here I would wear nothing else.

Schuberth make helmets for BMW and until the new AS/NZ1698 spec came out they were sold at BMW dealers and I have had one for a few years now. Extremely comfortable and very quiet. If you can find one at a dealer try it out.

    cheers

Love when you see these dudes and dudettes with their $800 are conditioned, surround sound, super quiet, flip top, custom painted skid lids and on their feet they've got $5 flip flops. I've seen more mangled feet than mangled faces

It's just a stab in the dark........... but I reckon that this thread is predominately made up of fairly recent Harley converts.....Am I right???

25 years ago when I had my shovel, image was 90% of everything...I wouldn't wear a full face and no one I rode with would dare to wear one...Now I'm in my 50's I still don't wear one but have been thinking about it..Image means nothing now and I'm in it for my enjoyment and if that means a full face,so be it...I don't care who rides what or who wears what as long as your doing it and enjying it....

    Cheers...Sparra

The cops come across this wrecked bike but no sign of the rider. 2k's down the rd,the trucky stopped after he'd "felt something", and thought he'd check his rig to make sure. This is what he found.   This guy hit this truck at an est speed of 200 kph.  THE RIDER SURVIVED THIS GRUESOME STACK!!!  FAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKKKATT00001.jpg picture by philthy_01

Funny how a simple question - which is the quietest full-face - can start a wave a criticism of other people. Fellas I don't give a stuff what YOU wear. But if an open-face black helmet is the only gear that is acceptable to a Harley rider, how did a group made famous for rebelliousness and independence turn into a bunch of conformist sheep. And full faces have nothing to do with fear, just prudence. EVERY open-face HD rider I know wears gloves - are they gutless because they choose a bit of protection? I'd call them smart.

Taffy, I guess your right.......... your thread has, I spose, been hijacked. Maybe because it is a subject that really doesn't relate to the vast majority of Harley riders has something to do with that.
Lets put it into perspective............. If I went on a sports bike forum and asked what the quietest open face helmet was......... or a dirt bike forum ........what do you think the responses are going to be????
I know you asked a simple question........I just wonder if you asked it in the right place?

F*^K, ofcourse it's the right place. If you can't ask a question on a forum where is the right place. Wear what you want ask what you want and lighten up if you need too!
