Hey guy's, have searched the forum but cant find anything to answer my main question, story is my battery is draining when bike sits for about a week which is standard proceedure for me, if battery is disconnected for a week its fine, 2nd time it drained i jump started it and rode for about 30-45 minutes but didnt seem to make any noticable difference to the charge, had barrey tested and came up fine, should have  186 cranking amps and came up on testing to have 205 cranking amps, havent had a chance to test the regulator yet but that would be my first guess, question is would a shagged regulator let the battery drain, 2nd guess would be a short in the wiring but searched today and couldnt find anything convincing but patched up an old unused wire that didnt seem to be attached to anything, have a trickle charger on my shopping list but dont think that will fix the problem, just hide it until i'm away from home for awhile. Stator is only about 2 years old so should be fine, connections look good, any idea's ??

If battery is ok for a week if you disconnect it, but goes flat if left connected to bike, then it sounds like you have a current drain somewhere. Something must be still on with ignition off.
You need to ascertain where this drain is. Try disconnecting things/ pulling fuses till you find it.

It might pay to bear in mind that a stator that has been connected to a faulty reg/rec can easily be "partly" damaged, and the whole cycle can start again if a thorough check is not completed.
