Picked this bike up last week and just did my first proper ride. Noted a very small amount of oil which had dripped onto the casing immediately above the timing cover. I could wipe a bit of oil of the bottom of the bracket that secures the Heavy Breather, which is directly above that spot but it seems an odd source. The bike had an oil and filter change at the dealers before delivery (they said). I've put 180ks on it and this was the first ride I've done where I gunned it a bit (by my standards, not yours!). Any thoughts?

Initial thoughts are to check there is nothing loose around the breather fitting to the head, make sure air filter element is not in need of cleaning due to breather oil saturation, and ensure oil tank level is not too high.

Dynarider is spot on, most likely coming from the air cleaner assembly.

Have heard this can happen when the bike has been sitting around for a few months without being started, excess oil drains back into the crankcase while it's sitting around.  Then when it's ridden the excess oil comes out of the breather.  If it is that it should clear up.

I think you've all nailed it. I asked them to change the oil pre delivery which I think they did because the oil is very clean. Thanks fellas. And Stix, I was THIS close to accepting your offer too.

Clean it, keep riding it, check oil on each ride, write back in let us know.

CVO's mate they are very exclusive items, mine is quite detachable & drops parts at high speeds, if you see an aircleaner on Wisemans Ferry road please let me know.
