Have astock  01 dyna wideglide with cv carb that was running fine until recently.Always popped a bit on decel which i didnt mind.

Another prob has arisen since the onset of the cold tassie winter.Bike was running fine for 70 or 80 clicks then started running rough when decelerating to go through a town then stalled.

Sat for a minute started and idled fine then did same thing again few k's up the road.Filled up with fresh 95 for trip back {weather was warmer by then} and didnt have any probs at all until another cold trip few days later.

Accels strongly prob seems To be in the low rpm range after slowing down from highway speeds not far off the throttle stop.

Have increased main jet to 195 {had a 190 in originally} idle jet has been drilled to .50 and stock needle has now got two washers under it in order to improve cold weather running.

Still accels strongly but still has this rough running prob at cruising/town speeds and also like atiny miss at low engine speeds.

Plug colour is a nice tan with some black around top of threads.Air filter looks ok and slip ons are outercycle tapers. Any ideas?

I had similar problems a while back on my 02 Fatty, we talked about it here.

I was running normal unleaded at the time, since then been running the highest octane I can get. However the other day going over to Triabunna it started to do it again at the first very cold section, I pulled the enricher out slightly and there were no more problems on that ride.

Hi Gaz, sounds like your got enough info, just wanted to say the 50 idle jet is a bit on the rich side,  i found runing the needles Bobby Wood sells can help economy  as they have steps not a tapper. hard to explain but i've used them and on interstate trips i got really good economy with them. they also seem to help idle . i think if you have stock CV40 woods K1 needle & about 185 190 main jet 46 to 48 idle should be sweet don't think you would need a washer under the needle with that set up & you should see economy improve on a run..

    cheers
