Curious to know what the views are on these two bikes from people who have owned , / rode  them . which if any handles better , is the glide likely to bottom out , given its not has high , does the glides fairing catch the wind , , make it harder to ride. Can you hear the cd radio at higher speeds.

Curious for has much info has possible, waiting for the 11 model to come out . The glide appeals to me cos its lower and i'm a short arse . but no point if it bottoms especially when two up , or if the big fairing takes away the handling benefits of a lower bike .

All bikes are too small for me.
Both the Glide and RK are good bikes but have different appeal depending on your personal taste.
I have a Street Glide and apart from moving the floor boards forward 50mm, changing the seat, changing the exhaust, fitting a tall after market screen and making my own sissy bar to suit the bride it is pretty much standard apart from the mandatory TTS remap.

Personally I like the look of the Street Glide and the full instrumentation it has to offer - I don't like the poor ground clearance and will change that when I am back on the road

The SG will scrape a fair bit earlier than the king. if you like to corner fast you might find the SG frustrating as you cant lean as far.

I personally would take a good set of noise insulated ear buds over a stereo any day, but each to their own.

My preference is the Roadking. I found the buffeting of the batwing terrible and also found the streetglide to feel a lot more top heavy. I'm 5'9 and have no trouble reaching the ground but wouldn't consider lowering as I love cornering too much. If I hit a sharp bump mid corner I'll scrape. Which ever way you go you'll smile. [My road music has a Vtwin beat].

Hi, I have a '09 Elcta Glide Standard ('09 was the last year they bought these out) much like a Street Glide except 1 and a hlf higher. I am 5'8" and don't have any trouble reaching the ground with my feet.  I have put 50,000 km on it in 12 months and have only scraped the boards a few times, the adjustable suspension is good with out being brilliant, I have a bad back and I have never had problems with it since riding this bike.  The wind buffetting is near nothing unless you meet a road train coming the other way, I have riden in cross winds pissing rain and never got wind buffeting either.  As the to the sound system, I fitted a Sony radio and  Biketronics kit with speakers but found it wasn't quite what i was after so I fitted a Biketronics amp and now all is well, on country runs I run my Ipod through the radio and is just bloody great.  Most people say they can hear the radio before the bike  hahahahaha.  Also fitted is a 103 kit and 255 cams which are pretty good and some other goodies like AC etc.  I used a TTS for tuning and am pretty happy with what I have now.

If you are into riding in the cold etc get the Glide the batwing keeps the cold wind out <img src=" src="/DesktopModules/NTForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif" />

All the best on what you choose.

Fuck you guys hav'nt made it easier , ha ha . Thanks for the responses , its a hard one , i am a short arse so the shorter glide appeals , but not so keen on the looks of the fairing, but the protection of the fairing appeals coa i ride rain or shine ,
, its also a tourer i want cos i have a street bike , so on one hand the scraping is or should'nt be an issue , but on the other hand , my typical sunday is the wife on the back doing the adelaide hills clare , barossa valley and back to the south of adelaide and lots of good twisties in there even though i'm a conservative rider ,

Radio /cd never had one but definetly appeals for them sunny days , especially early sunday mornings when i fuck off on my own and do the loop from morphett vale to jarvis , victor , murray bridge and home, but then again i could get a ipod ha ha . .

Fuck i'm confused , ha ha , but i think the dealer might make my mind up for me cos he said (PETER STEVENS )Harley are not bringing the street glide in anymore . But hey more confusion , when interstate riding a week ago a interstate dealer said they were , in fact said he'd ordered one .

So i think just wait and see what comes in and which one i can get the best deal on ,

    thanks for the responses .

    Hey boxa

I have 2010 Street Glide they are right about the shocks too much air and its a drama I am 5foot 4 and have the short arse seat it does make it easier to reach but the rear passenger seat is about 4 inches thick of course the missus loves it but f**** it looks plain ugly

I have found the stero to be choice with that auto volume shit, the ipod is ok as well

Maybe 2011 models will f*** off the ipod crap and use the USB ports they have in all the new cars so you can chuck a flash drive in there with your own stuff and you dont have too subscribe any of Apples crap!

I havent had any dramas scraping the running boards but the day will come and as for the buffeting some days are good and some days are shit?

But over all for me at my age its still puts a smile on my dial when I ride it
