I remember Mike Hailwood the king of the tt 100 mph stood up on the bike in mid air going over a bridge. Dont think he wore a crash helmet. crazy man retired from the tt racing and got killed in a racing car.

i actually only just returned from the Isle Of Man TT race (2010) , approx 2  weeks ago . i went there with Suzuki Australia motorcycles team , as i work in the motorcycle industry . Got to meet all the champs in person e.g = Cameron Donald , Michael Dunlop , Ian Hutchinson etc etc etc , spent time with with the Relentless Suzuki team & must say its faster & more spectacular in real life up close . Then went to London & checked out the scene there for a bit , Isle Of Man TT is simply the best , trip of a lifetime .

I was at the 2007 100th Anniversary TT, it was the best motorsport event i've ever been to, real road racing. If you get a chance to go, jump on it.

There is a huge element of risk and carbon fibre helmets and airbag race suits aint going to help when you hit a stone wall at 200mph. Respect to those lads that can keep the throttle pinned doing the isle.

I wonder what Michael will do now...either retire or go at it even more batshit crazy than usual...

Will was killed in Practice at Skerries, some of the Irish RR events are off the charts...NW 200 etc. One of the local regular Manx guys, Dan Kneen was killed this year at the TT.

Not been to the TT since '96, went for years..had some mates I used to race with back in UK killed there..wouldn't mind going back again one year..

Have a read of the book 'That Near Death Thing' by Rick Broadbent...A real insight into what the TT is really all about.
