Slow Air Leak - Rear Tyre

    People,

I have a 2009 Softail Custom.  New off the Stealer floor last December.

Has just travelled a tad under 8000ks.

Tyre pressure (and air retention) was all good until about 4 weeks ago,

Now I have a slow leak somewhere.  Rear tyre is losing about 20psi of air in a week.

Optimum psi is 38 and that is what I put back into it each time.

Told my Stealer about the slow leak - they checked it out found no valve damage - no nails or other foreign objects were seen.

Anyone got any suggestions in an atempt to remedy, thanks!!

Hey Ando & Robo - thanks for your input.  Appreciated.

Burto - They did not charge me.

Gmeikle & Chromer - Many thanks for you considerations.

However Gents - Everytime I stopped anywhere I gave the rear tyre the once over.

This arvo was giving my ride a clean up and of course 'back tyre once over'.

Bingo - there it was a nail embedded in the gully of a cross tread near the centre of the tyre.

I will be ringing the Stealer on Monday; telling the Workshop Manager what I found and what his staff member missed.

However, the thread is not wasted.

All good 'hints, tips & advice' provided by the Boyz.

    Cheers Big Ears.
