Dealer shows up right on time. Handshakes, congratulations, here are the keys, see you later. I spend half an hour just looking at it and congratulating myself on being a clever fella to have found it. Then the big moment: nothing but clickety-bloody-click-click. Battery hasn't got enough oomph to kick it over. Who's disappointed! Dealer says they'll have a new battery here first thing tomorrow but I think their "first thiing" will be a lot later than mine.
Anywhere, here is the first pic: Work Horse meets Show Pony for the first time. Neither particularly impressed with the other. At least the Iron starts.
Nice photo. Shame about the clickety bloody click click !
Just means one more night of little to no sleep, in anticipation of that first ride .
yeah great pic ... ya cant separate them now they share shed together .. be like separating twins at birth
Steamer that is exactly what I'll be doing.
I hung around until 2pm...hours of riding lost...dealer showed up. Takes the bike apart, pulls out the battery, which triggers the alarm, "no probs just get the new battery in fast so we can kill the alarm..."
Wrong battery. I'm not kidding. The mechanic was not exactly impressed with the spare parts division who gave him a Wide Glide battery which has opposite polarity. They'll be back tomorrow. At least I have to cancel the early morning ride I had intended to take before there was much traffic ,so the neighbours now get to have a sleep in. Though they did have to listen to the non stop alarm until the back up battery went flat.
Hey but the bike looks really good...
Is there a message here? This will be really funny one day. Won't it?
Hooray! It starts! It goes! It's a very sweet ride...and I didn't drop it. Yet. Gosh it's loud though.
About to take it for another run to show my son and it's spitting rain. Too bad. Phantom says this bike has probably never seen rain, so it's time it grew up and started working for a living. Anyway there's never anything on TV so a night of polishing won't be a hardship.
