Many on here went on the ride for Jayden that occurred 2 years ago now.
The MRASA are doing another run on the 18th of July to raise funds for the charity that has been set up in Jayden's name.
I'm going to try my hardest to make this, same departure point as last time.
Details on the MRASA site here: http://www.mrasa.asn.au/html/events/rftc.shtml
Rides departs from Flotek Engineering, 577 Grand Junction Road, Gepps Cross from 8.30 am. (Click here for Flotek map)
Worthy Cause I will try to make it as well. Ask the club if they would like to attend as well.
Wouldn't miss this one, count me in.
Hopefully BACA and BUACA will make the event a club run, seeing that it is all about the kids.
Quoted from the website:
On Sunday, July 18 we plan to run a motorcycling fundraising event inspired by the courage of Jayden Green who succumbed to his cancer two years ago. Jayden wanted to go on a motorcycle ride with some mates. On July 19, 2008, in excess of 400 riders gathered on the day to ride with Jayden to Hahndorf and return. Since then many riders have asked us to honor this lad’s courage and to hold an event to honor him.
One childs courage can make such a personal impact to so many others, hope this attracts many bikers to honour him....
It will be a pleasure to share a road with all of you! Young Jayden has inspired us to try to be better than we can be as individuals. On this ride we simply want your money. We want to raise money for Canteen and the Brookman ward at the kids hospital. If you raise $50 you get a free badge and a BBQ lunch BUT you have to register with jock@mrasa.asn.au so we have catering numbers.
(We only ordered 200 badges and Mt Pleasant doesn't have a BigW!) If you raise $100 your name goes into a raffle for a gift voucher courtesy of Coast Yamaha. If you raise $150 your name goes into a raffle for a gift voucher courtesy of Victor Motorcycles. (plus all above). If you raise $200 your name goes into a raffle for a gift voucher courtesy of Bridgeland Motorcycles. (plus all above). If you raise the most money in excess of $500 you will win a custom mirror (for your house) from Pagel Glass. Also if you ride a Harley you are eligible for the "BEST" Harley award courtesy of K & M Motorcycles (thank you Clive). Now, this is a fun event and is up to the the judges discression on the day. Now we don't want to suggest the judge will be persuaded by a last minute cash donation to a charity but the best paint and chrome may not cut it on the day :-) Please enjoy the event. Please remember we want to show the community how we can be a force for good.
So, we have $1,000 worth of prizes to encourage you to be your best. What can you do for kids like Jayden?
We expect Jaydens Family to join in on the day. If the riding community support this event we plan to make it an annual event.
Ride Safe! With the greatest of respect
