Has any one got the facts on this Green slip increase of $250 for up to 250cc and a flat rate of $800 for bikes of 1200cc and above . If this is right we all have to stand together and do something about this .

I personally hate being raped without as much as a kiss or or a dinner invite ................

Article from Daily Tele on Monday

THIRD-party insurance will soar from July 1 when 150,000 motorbike owners in NSW face new green slip charges.

The increases will be more than 85 per cent in some cases.

The biggest rise will hit riders on 250cc machines, many P-platers on learner-approved bikes, and the growing number of scooter owners.

Their premiums will move from $252 to $465, an 85.5 per cent jump, according to one authoritative calculation.

But there will be a cut in rates for riders of 600cc machines, down 30 per cent, or $190, from $663 to $465.

Owners of bigger bikes, over 1150cc, will have third-party costs rise by $217, or 32 per cent, to $880. Other categories will increase from between 3 per cent and 18 per cent.

The new premiums were announced around the time of the state Budget but will come as news to many riders already facing steep registration costs.

The issue could mobilise many of the state's 540,000 motorbike licence holders against the Government.
The new premiums are aimed at balancing the burden on insurance payments. But the NSW Motorcycle Council wants the Government to step in, and has described the increases as "price gouging by the insurance companies".

Man thats BullShit of the highest order.....start putting car drivers through compoulsary driver training, that'll solve the problem, green house emmissions, unemployment, traffic congestion etc in one fowl swoop....Wanted a NSW Govt who knows how to build infrastructure, who understands the more money i can spread throughout my community means a better standard of living for all of us, and less profits to the banks, and i thought the State Govt was a non-profit org...if its not, why not?.....Not happy Vern....

Ive said it before. if you own two registered cycles you pay twice. how can you ride both at the same time your causing third party damage. its a giant reem. third party should be on your license. and every one should pay the same. that way your covered even if unregistered as long as you have a license. just makes scenes i recon.

Good call Swifty, after all i can only operate 1 vehicle at a time.

was surfin ebay and saw this comment attached to a 450cc mcycle with QLD rego- "The official modification plate is riveted on the left hand side of the frame as per government requirements (these mod plates do not come cheap). My CTP insurance went from around $250pa to only $80pa. So including annual registration, the rego and insurance on this bike only costs me about $200pa... "...now sure we are in a capacity class above this.....but why arnt, NSW folks offered rego like this......

Now where was that post from Obiwan, about who to complain to, iam in a complaining frame of mind.
